William Rutherford

William Rutherford was born in Skares about 1895 to John Rutherford and Esther Copeland. His wife was Jeanie Graham of 125 Skares Row. They married on 31st December 1907 at Cumnock Manse. They had five children but two had already died by 1911. In 1911 they were living at 93 Skares Row with son George and Jeanie's father George Graham and brothers George and Thomas Graham and 1 other boarder.

He was the brother-in-law of Samuel Guthrie.

Lance Corporal Rutherford was killed in action on 12 Dec 1917.
